Submit the WITS scholarship application and a 500-word essay describing why you want to become a STEM elementary teacher, why you selected your academic major, how you plan to use your education after graduation, and what benefit you think your efforts will be to the STEM education community.  Download a copy of the application and your educational track to review from the right side of this page, then click the button below to get started.

Apply for WITS Internship Online

Write a statement (not more than one page) explaining your career objective and why you are interested in participating in the Robert Noyce Internship program (beyond financial support).  Tell us about yourself, your future career plans and goals, experience in working with youth, why this internship opportunity would be beneficial and what you hope to learn from it. ​ Download a copy of the application to review from the right side of this page, then click the button below to get started.

Application Deadline: The deadline for the WITS Scholars application is April 1, 2018. Awardees will be notified by May 1, 2018.

The deadline for the WITS Internship application is April 15, 2018. Awardees will be notified by  May 15, 2018.

The Wyoming Interns to Teacher Scholars (WITS) program is a collaborative endeavor between the following organizations and universities: 

University of Wyoming
  • College of Arts & Sciences
  • College of Engineering & Applied Sciences
  • College of Education
  • The Science and Mathematics Teaching Center (SMTC)

Central Wyoming College (CWC)


The primary goal of the WITS program is to recruit and retain diverse teachers with a background in STEM in order to increase the number of highly qualified teachers.
