​The WITS program mission is to recruit and retain diverse teachers with a background in STEM in order to increase the number of highly qualified teachers.

Benefits of the WITS scholarship program:
  • The WITS scholarship will pay for up to 3 years of post-secondary education
  • WITS recipients will also receive up to 3 years support for housing and room and board
  • WITS awards are $12,000 per year
  • WITS recipients will have the opportunity to earn 2 degrees:  one in a STEM Major and one in Elementary Education
  • WITS recipients will earn a K-6 Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education 

Benefits of the WITS internship program:
  • Exposure to elementary education as a career
  • WITS recipients may earn a $1,000 stipend in a 2-week Summer Internship for Rising Sophomores
