WITS at UW to Attend MES 8 Conference in Portland

The WITS team will attend the Mathematics Education and Society conference in Portland, Oregon June 21-26, 2015. The team is looking forward to presenting "Preparing Noyce Scholars in the Rocky Mountain West to Teach Mathematics and Science in Rural Schools". Paper is below and available for download.

The Wyoming Interns to Teacher Scholars (WITS) program is a collaborative endeavor between the following organizations and universities: 

University of Wyoming
  • College of Arts & Sciences
  • College of Engineering & Applied Sciences
  • College of Education
  • The Science and Mathematics Teaching Center (SMTC)

Central Wyoming College (CWC)


The primary goal of the WITS program is to recruit and retain diverse teachers with a background in STEM in order to increase the number of highly qualified teachers.
