Sustaining Wyoming’s Advancing Reach in Mathematics and Science (SWARMS) is a Robert Noyce Scholarship Phase I collaboration project targeting STEM seniors and graduate students who are interested in teaching in underserved high schools to enhance Wyoming’s pool of mathematics and science teachers. 

SWARMS can fund the STEM senior college year and/or the post-baccalaureate secondary science or mathematics certification year.
Award recipients will receive a 6-12 endorsement to teach in middle schools and high schools.

The Wyoming Interns to Teacher Scholars (WITS) program is a collaborative endeavor between the following organizations and universities:

  • College of Arts & Sciences
  • College of Engineering & Applied Sciences
  • College of Education
  • The Science and Mathematics Teaching Center (SMTC)

Central Wyoming College (CWC)


The primary goal of the WITS program is to recruit and retain diverse teachers with a background in STEM in order to increase the number of highly qualified teachers.
